Education
Martin began his formal education at Western Michigan
University and ultimately pursuing his legal education
at the University of Michigan and Wayne State
University, received a Juris Doctor Degree in 1976.
Professional Experience
Martin specializes in workers'
compensation appeals and much of his work has
significantly affected case law at the Appellate
Commission and Michigan Supreme Court levels.
Because of his reputation and immense knowledge of
workers'
compensation law, the Institute for Continuing Legal
Education (ICLE) asked him to author the
AWorkers'
Disability Compensation@
chapter in their recent book, Employment Law in
Michigan. Martin also authored a chapter on workers' compensation insurance in the publication, Insurance Law
in Michigan and another chapter on workers'
compensation in the upcoming publication, Disability
Based on Discrimination.
Affiliations
Martin is a member of the Workers'
Compensation Section of the State Bar of Michigan,
and the Michigan Supreme Court Historical Society.
